Grace Ministry offers free Biblical counseling services to those in our community who are struggling with problems in their life (e.g., marriage, depression, anger, fear, worry, interpersonal problems, grief, etc.).

What is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical Counseling is the process whereby the Bible is related individually to a person who is struggling with difficulties in their life with the goal of helping that person meet the challenges of life in a way that will please and honor the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves the following key beliefs:

1. All Scripture is inspired by God. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." We believe that the Word of God is verbally inspired in every word, absolutely inerrant in the original documents, infallible, and God breathed.

2. The Scripture gives us everything we need for all life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3 says, "His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness". We believe the Bible, as given by God, is sufficient for life in that, when properly interpreted, it reveals all the data necessary for one to understand his need for Christ, how he can please the Lord, and how to live in a God-honoring way regardless of your circumstances.

3. God's Word is used as the final authority. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." We believe God has given us all we need to know Him and to live in a way that is pleasing to Him. All our difficulties may not evaporate. However, when a person willingly submits to God’s instructions and clings to His promises, there is hope and help. There are answers for dealing with whatever you might be facing. In all cases, we use the Bible, God’s sufficient Word, to answer the problems of life. We are confident that the Bible has all of the information necessary for life and godliness and that there are no problems which the Bible fails to address. The Bible is also the authoritative source with which all truth claims - including claims made by science and history - must be evaluated. As a result, we reject all counseling theories that use presuppositions, principles, and/or methodologies that are inconsistent with the proper interpretation of the Biblical text. Therefore, your counseling will be Biblical in which the Scriptures are used as the final authority in all cases.  Print counseling forms

Our Counselors

Our Biblical Counselors are under the supervision of our church leaders and are trained in the use of the Scriptures and the principles of Biblical Counseling. All of our counselors go through a rigorous Biblical counseling training program and are experienced in counseling a variety of issues pertaining to life. Our counselors are certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). They are committed to the position that Scripture provides the only authoritative rule of faith and standard of conduct (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Therefore, they do not base their counseling knowledge on their own opinions, experience, or concepts of behavior, but seek to marshal the full range of Biblical truth to bear on the person's needs.

What to Expect

We believe you will receive encouragement and hope from the Scriptures even during the first session. Romans 15:4 says, "For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." From then on, with your cooperation, we believe a trustworthy and Biblical answer to your difficulty will be found. Biblical Counseling can help you learn how to handle any problem you are dealing with victoriously!
